We’re often asked about how to measure a finger size so we’ve put together a list of frequently asked sizing questions here. However, if you’d like more help please contact us and we are always happy to offer our advice.
You have several options. You’re more than welcome to arrange a visit to us in our London showroom where we’ll measure you. Or if that’s not convenient, we can post you out a sizing kit to use at home. The postal sizing kit also includes advice for finding out a finger size for a surprise gift like an engagement ring.
Again, you’ve got several options:
If you can find a ring that you think is worn on the same finger then you can use the chart in our postal sizing kit. Be aware that the same finger on the other hand may be a different size as we tend to have slightly bigger fingers on the hand we write with!
Ask a friend or family member? If they can be trusted with your secret then it’s worth asking if they know the finger size.
Or, if these options don’t work for you, contact us. We’re very good at guesstimating based on info like height and build!
We suggest measuring your finger more than once, as you may find that your finger size fluctuates. Ideally this would be at different times of the day when you feel warm and cool. Warm weather makes our fingers swell and they tend to shrink in cold weather. Likewise, they’re often larger in the evenings and can be affected by hormones, weather, medication and more.
There are many different shapes of fingers but most people fall into one of these types: tapered or wide knuckles. Tapered fingers widen downwards and the thickest part is at the base and wide knuckled fingers have a broader knuckle where the middle part is the widest. If you have tapered fingers, it’s important to have a snug ring fit made as you may find that rings are more likely to be able to wiggle off your finger. However, if you have wide knuckled fingers you might find that while a ring is a tight fit to get past the knuckle, it feels loose once on. This can be a particular issue for those who have arthritis in their finger joints, so take special care when measuring your ring size if this is the case.
The size changes depending on the width of the ring you choose. But as long as we know how you measure your finger then we’ll be able to make the adjustment in size for you. Generally speaking, for slim bands you’ll require a smaller size and the wider the band is, the larger the finger size will need to be.
Yes! The UK sizing system is alphabetical whereas the US and Europeans use numeric systems, click here to see the US to UK ring size conversion table.
Nope. Both men’s and women’s ring sizes are based on the same measuring chart system, which makes things easier!
The short answer is yes! Please get in touch with us if you need to arrange a ring re-size.
We are often asked about how to measure a bangle or bracelet size so we’ve put together a list of frequently asked sizing questions here. However, if you’d like some further help, please contact us and we’ll be happy to offer our advice.
Bangles are solid closed hoops of metal that are pushed over the hand and bracelets are flexible- usually made from chain and have a clasp to attach them to the wrist. We have tips on how to measure for them both below.
You have several options here. You’re very welcome to arrange a visit to us in our London showroom where we’ll measure you using our sizing rings. Or if that’s not convenient, we suggest the following techniques for measuring at home: Put your hand on a flat surface with your fingers tucked into a fist, then taking a soft measuring tape, measure from the middle of the first knuckle to the middle of the fourth knuckle. It’s easier if you have someone to help! This measurement will give us the inside diameter of your bangle.
To measure your bracelet size, take a soft measuring tape and measure around your wrist. This measurement will give us the circumference of your bracelet.
Again, you have several options. If you can find a bangle or bracelet that’s already comfortably worn on the same hand, you’ll be able to work out the size by measuring it. Do this by measuring the inside diameter for a bangle, or if it’s a bracelet you measure its length. If these options don’t work for you contact us, we’re very good at guesstimating based on info like height and build!
The size does change depending on the design you choose. However, as long as we know how you measured yourself, we’ll be able to make the relevant adjustment for you.
Nope! Both men’s and women’s sizes are the same, which makes things easier!
The short answer to this is yes! Please get in touch with us if you need to arrange a re-size.
